CPI-M hails victory in Himachal's Theog seat for first time
New Delhi, Dec 18, 2017: The CPI-M on Monday hailed the victory of its candidate Rakesh Singha from Theog in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly election.
He is the CPI (M) State Secretariat Member, Himachal Pradesh.
"This victory is all the more significant as it comes in the background of a highly polarized election between two major parties," a statement from the Communist Party of India-Marxist said.
Singha had earlier won from Shimla in 1993. This is CPI-M's second victory in the history of Himachal Assembly
Comrade Singha has led various movements in the state on the issues of the people and is a militant leader of the working class, said the party's Facebook post.
"This victory reflects the faith the people of Theog have reposed in the CPI-M to protect their rights and work for people's interests in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly."(agency with inputs)
